Paltenghi’s recent studies of landscape and still life combine the interior and exterior and form the base for his new series of canvases “sur la route vers arles”. the title suggests a journey through the landscape and it’s various aspects combining the still life elements of figs, apples and pears within the austere landscape, a tension, an otherness, with surreal connatations, objects juxtaposed becoming drama, a theatre, without direct narrative. these are internal landscapes, a subjective space made visible.
